Ford sales in U.S. drop 15.6 pct in 2020

CHICAGO, Jan. 6 (Xinhua) -- Ford Motor Co. announced on its website on Wednesday that it sold 2.04 million new vehicles in the United States in 2020, down 15.6 percent from 2.42 million sold in 2019.

The U.S. automaker sold 542,749 new vehicles in the fourth quarter of 2020, down 9.8 percent from 601,862 sold in the same period of 2019. Ford estimates that while fleet sales in the fourth quarter went down 26.3 percent, retail sales went up 2.7 percent.
