PARIS, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- French shares went up on Monday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.68 percent, or 37.55 points, to close at 5,588.96 points.
French-Italian electronics and semiconductor manufacturer STMicroelectronics advanced 4.82 percent. International steel producer ArcelorMittal SA added 4.42 percent. French multinational rolling stock manufacturer Alstom SA rose 3.52 percent.
