LONDON, Dec. 29 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 1.55 percent, or 100.54 points, to close at 6,602.65 points.
Halma, a group of technology companies that makes products for hazard detection and life protection, soared 4.84 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Diageo and Next increased by 4.50 percent and 4.42 percent, respectively.
