German shares gain 1.30 pct Tuesday

FRANKFURT, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 171.81 points, or 1.30 percent, to close at 13,418.11 points.

Semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies gained the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 4.00 percent. Multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement and multinational chemical and pharmaceutical company Bayer added 3.76 percent and 3.04 percent respectively.

Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen was the only loser among the blue chips, falling 0.07 percent.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most-traded share with a turnover of 271.91 million euros (332.79 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, rose 0.55 percent to close at 1.088 euros per share on Tuesday.
