PARIS, Dec. 22 (Xinhua) -- France's public debt reached 2,674.3 billion euros (about 3,255.93 billion U.S. dollars) by the end of the third quarter of this year, accounting for 116.4 percent of gross domestic product (GDP), the country's national statistic agency INSEE announced on Tuesday.
The quarterly increase of 36.1 billion euros in public debt, mainly due to the increase in state debt, slowed sharply from the unprecedented increase of 199.9 billion euros in the second quarter, it added.
