Switzerland issues entry ban for travelers from UK, South Africa

GENEVA, Dec. 21 (Xinhua) -- Following the discovery of a new, more contagious variant of the coronavirus in the UK and South Africa, the Swiss government on Monday decided to introduce a general entry ban for all foreign nationals seeking to enter Switzerland from the two countries.

A press release from the Swiss Federal Council -- the highest executive authority in the country -- on Monday said that the Swiss government also decided that all those who have entered Switzerland from these two countries since Dec. 14 must go into quarantine for 10 days.
