BERLIN, Dec. 16 (Xinhua) -- German stocks were off to a good start on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index growing by 53.42 points, or 0.40 percent, opening at 13,416.29 points.
The biggest winner among Germany's 30 largest listed companies at the start of trading was automotive supplier Continental, increasing strongly by 4.15 percent, followed by carmaker Volkswagen with 1.64 percent and building materials company HeidelbergCement with 1.12 percent.
