German shares gain 0.47 pct Wednesday

FRANKFURT, Dec. 9 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged up on Wednesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 61.77 points, or 0.47 percent, to close at 13,340.26 points.

European multinational online food-delivery service Delivery Hero won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 6.70 percent. Material manufacturer Covestro and chemical group BASF rose by 4.97 percent and 2.95 percent respectively.

Deutsche Bank lost the most among the blue chips, falling 1.61 percent. Housing associations Deutsche Wohnen and Vonovia went down by 1.17 percent and 1.13 percent respectively.

BASF was the most-traded share with a turnover of 419.23 million euros (507.65 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, lost 1.45 percent to close at 0.986 euros per share on Wednesday.
