Thailand rounds up over 6,000 illegal immigrants since May

BANGKOK, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- Thailand's Immigration Bureau on Tuesday released a report saying that authorities had netted in more than 6,000 illegal immigrants since May, during the peak of the COVID-19 outbreak.

Since May 1, Thailand Immigration Bureau had netted in 6,421 people on charges of illegal entry during the time when Thailand's borders were mostly shut to stem the spread of COVID-19, said the bureau's press release.
