German shares close 0.21 pct lower

FRANKFURT, Dec. 7 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Monday, with the benchmark DAX index down 27.96 points, or 0.21 percent, to close at 13,271.00 points.

Automotive supplier Continental lost 2.05 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by Deutsche Bank and automotive manufacturer BMW, which lost 1.73 percent and 1.67 percent respectively.

Material manufacturer Covestro gained 2.92 percent, becoming the top gainer. Multinational chemical firm Linde and semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies advanced 2.31 percent and 1.72 percent respectively.

Multinational software corporation SAP was the most traded share with a turnover of 245.85 million euros (298.17 million U.S. dollars).

China's Haier, a leading global household appliances manufacturer listed in Frankfurt in 2018, shed 0.50 percent to close at 1.005 euros per share on Monday.
