PARIS, Dec. 4 (Xinhua) -- French shares edged up on Friday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 up 0.62 percent, or 34.79 points, to close at 5,609.15 points.
Of the 40 selected large companies, 31 gained in the day.
French international full-service banking group Credit Agricole S.A. advanced 4.00 percent. French car manufacturer Peugeot rose 3.40 percent. Multinational integrated oil and gas company Total SE. added 3.36 percent.
French high fashion luxury goods manufacturer Hermes Intl lost 1.60 percent. Multinational luxury goods conglomerate LVMH shed 1.15 percent. French mass media conglomerate Vivendi went down by 0.95 percent.
