German GDP forecast to decline by 5.1 pct in 2020

BERLIN, Nov. 11 (Xinhua) -- German real gross domestic product (GDP) is forecast to decline by 5.1 percent in 2020 before recovering by 3.7 percent in 2021, according to the annual report by the German Council of Economic Experts (GCEE) published on Wednesday.

The independent academic body and official adviser to the German government warned in the report that the economic situation in the country remained "fragile in light of the ongoing pandemic."
