NEW YORK, Nov. 6 (Xinhua) -- Renowned American weather forecaster Al Roker, a Guinness World Record setter, said on Friday that he would leave his job for some time to have a prostate surgery to cure cancer.
"After a routine check-up in September, (it) turns out I have prostate cancer," announced the 66-year-old co-host of the "Today" show on national television network NBC.
