LISBON, Oct. 29 (Xinhua) -- Portugal reported 4,224 COVID-19 new cases on Thursday, surpassing the threshold of 4,000, according to the epidemiological bulletin of the Directorate-General for Health (DGS).
According to data from Portuguese health authorities, it is the highest number of new cases in a single day since the beginning of the pandemic. The total number of confirmed cases reached 132,616 in the country.
