KATHMANDU -- The Nepali government on Wednesday reported record high single day spike in COVID-19 cases and deaths.
"The country saw record 5,743 cases in the last 24 hours," Jageshwor Gautam, spokesperson at the Health Ministry, said at a regular press meet on Wednesday. (Nepal-COVID-19)

TOKYO -- Japan on Wednesday confirmed 612 new COVID-19 cases, up from 483 infections logged a day earlier, bringing the nation's cumulative total to 94,626, not including those related to a cruise ship quarantined near Tokyo earlier in the year.

SEOUL -- South Korea's ruling party chief on Wednesday called on Japan to find a middle ground over historical issues through dialogue between the diplomatic authorities of the two countries.
"(South) Korea and Japan both have principles each wants to keep in place. While leaving the principles untouched, (the two countries) can find a middle ground (over historical issues). MANILA -- Chinese embassy on Wednesday handed over 150 sets of high flow humidifier to the Philippines in the latest batch of medical equipment donated by China to help the Southeast Asian country fight the COVID-19 pandemic.
