Spain reports 37,889 new COVID-19 cases in 3 days; total nears 1 mln

MADRID, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- Spanish health authorities said Monday that the past three days have recorded 37,889 new cases of the coronavirus infection, taking the number of total COVID-19 cases from 936,560 on Friday to 974,449.

The continued increase means that Spain is likely to reach the mark of one million infections within the next two or three days, while the incidence of the virus has risen to approximately 312 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
