French shares edge down 0.13 pct

PARIS, Oct. 19 (Xinhua) -- French shares went lower on Monday with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 0.13 percent, or 6.59 points, to close at 4,929.27 points.

Of the 20 selected large companies, 30 lost in the day.

Saint-Gobain, the French multinational corporation that produces construction materials, went down by 7.98 percent, the top loser of the blue chips. French personal care company L'Oreal shed 1.00 percent while French telecommunication company Orange edged down 0.72 percent.

European commercial real estate company Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE advanced 2.91 percent, the top gainer among the blue chips. European aviation group Airbus rose 2.14 percent and French international financial group BNP Paribas added 1.23 percent.
