OTTAWA, Oct. 14 (Xinhua) -- A total of 4,042 new cases of COVID-19 were reported in Canada, including 1,996 backlogged cases from the long weekend and 2,046 newly identified cases on Tuesday, the Public Health Agency of Canada announced on Wednesday.
That means the average daily case count remains elevated with 2,223 cases being reported during the most recent seven days.
