Roundup: Iran's COVID-19 cases hit 492,378; Morocco reports record 3,445 daily cases

CAIRO, Oct. 9 (Xinhua) -- Iran reported 4,142 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, raising the total confirmed cases in the country to 492,378. Meanwhile, Morocco reports a record daily high of 3,445 cases.

The pandemic has so far taken 28,098 lives in Iran, up by 210 in the past 24 hours, said Sima Sadat Lari, spokeswoman for the Iranian Ministry of Health and Medical Education, during her daily briefing.
