VIENNA, Oct. 8 (Xinhua) -- Austria reported its biggest daily increase in COVID-19 cases on record as a further 1,209 people tested positive in the past 24 hours, the country's health minister said on Thursday.
The increases are particularly high in Vienna (613 positive tests), Lower Austria (169) and Upper Austria (149), and the number of active cases has risen to 9,930 in the past 24 hours, Rudi Anschober said at a press conference.
