British stocks up 0.12 pct Tuesday

LONDON, Oct. 6 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose Tuesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.12 percent, or 7.00 points, to close at 5,949.94 points.

Rolls-Royce Holdings, a UK-based engineering company, soared 21.56 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. International Consolidated Airlines Group and Whitbread increased by 7.06 percent and 5.62 percent, respectively.
