LONDON, Sept. 28 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Monday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 1.46 percent, or 85.26 points, to close at 5,927.93 points.
HSBC Holdings, a multinational investment bank and financial services holding company, soared 8.89 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Land Securities Group and Natwest Group increased by 7.85 percent and 7.71 percent, respectively.
