(Reuters) - Amy Coney Barrett, President Donald Trump's nominee for a lifetime job on the U.S. Supreme Court, has served as a federal appeals court judge since 2017 and has weighed in on cases involving several hot-button issues including abortion, gun rights, immigration and campus sexual assault.

Trump appointed Barrett, a favorite of religious conservatives, to her current job as a judge on the Chicago-based 7th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
