CAIRO, Sept. 22 (Xinhua) -- Iran on Tuesday set a new record in single-day rise of COVID-19 cases with 3,712 new infections reported. Meanwhile, Tunisia decided to turn a Chinese-funded hospital into the national center for treating COVID-19 patients.
The total number of coronavirus infections in Iran, the hardest-hit country in the Middle East, surged to 429,193, while the death toll rose by 178 to 24,656.
