LONDON, Sept. 17 (Xinhua) -- British stocks decreased on Thursday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index down by 0.47 percent, or 28.56 points, to close at 6,049.92 points.
Next, a British multinational clothing, footwear and home products retailer, soared 4.15 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. J Sainsbury and Ocado Group increased by 3.32 percent and 2.69 percent, respectively.
Polymetal International, a precious metals mining company, was the worst performer in the blue chips, with its shares losing 3.54 percent. WPP, a British multinational advertising and public relations company, dropped 3.06 percent. Natwest Group, a British banking and financial services company, fell 2.96 percent.
