At least 7 killed in road accident in south Ghana

ACCRA, Sept. 16 (Xinhua) -- At least seven people were killed and several others injured in a road accident on the Accra-Cape Coast highway in south Ghana on Wednesday, local police confirmed.

The spokesman for the Central Regional Command of the Ghana Police Service Evans Ettie told Xinhua that the accident happened when a passenger vehicle traveling from Takoradi to Accra collided with a minibus traveling from the opposite way.

"Three persons died on the spot, two others died on arrival at the Apam Catholic Hospital, while two others died later on admission," Ettie said.

The injured, including two drivers, are receiving treatment at the Apam Catholic Hospital, he added.
