TIRANA, Sept. 11 (Xinhua) -- Albania's Council of Ministers has approved the country's agreement with the European Union (EU) on macro-financial assistance (MFA) made available to the countries of the western Balkans and the enlargement countries of eastern Europe in the context of the COVID-19 crisis, the Albanian Finance and Economy Ministry said in a press release on Friday.

According to the release, Albania will receive 180 million euros (213 million U.S. dollars) in the form of a so-called "soft loan" (made on terms favorable to the borrower) with an indicative interest rate of about 0.5 percent with current market conditions.
