QUITO, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- The Ecuadoran Ministry of Public Health (MSP) announced on Wednesday that the country registered 1,409 new cases of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) and 55 more deaths in the last 24 hours, for a total of 112,166 cases and 6,924 deaths.
The ministry also stated that another 3,777 deaths were likely caused by COVID-19, but that these have yet to be confirmed.
