LONDON, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 1.39 percent, or 82.54 points, to close at 6,012.84 points.
BT Group, a British multinational telecommunications holding company, soared 5.62 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. Ashtead Group and Unilever increased by 5.33 percent and 3.83 percent, respectively.
