PARIS, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Tuesday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 1.59 percent, or 80.20 points, to close at 4,973.52 points.
Of the 40 selected large companies, 37 lost in the day.
European multinational aerospace corporation Airbus lost 4.05 percent. French multinational investment bank and financial services company Societe Generale lost 3.76 percent. French multinational integrated oil and gas company Total went down by 3.65 percent.
French supermarket retailer Carrefour edged up 0.63 percent. French car manufacturer Peugeot rose 0.58 percent. French multinational pharmaceutical company Sanofi rose 0.20 percent.
