BERLIN, Sept. 8 (Xinhua) -- Restaurants and hotels in Germany recorded sales losses of 17.6 billion euros (20.8 billion U.S. dollars) between March and June, the German Hotel and Restaurant Association (DEHOGA) announced on Tuesday.
"After ten years of growth, the industry has been recording sales losses of historic extent since the beginning of March," said DEHOGA president Guido Zoellick. The shutdown in spring due to the COVID-19 crisis had "torn huge holes in the balance sheets of restaurateurs and hoteliers."
