Egypt's COVID-19 daily infections exceed 200 for 1st time since early August

CAIRO, Aug. 26 (Xinhua) -- Egypt confirmed on Wednesday 206 new COVID-19 infections, raising the total cases registered in the country since the outbreak of the pandemic to 97,825, said the Egyptian health ministry.

It is the first time for coronavirus daily infections in Egypt to exceed 200 since Aug. 1, when they reached 238 and kept declining since then. The country saw a record daily infections on June 19 with 1,774 cases.
