BERLIN, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- Sales in Germany's consumer electronics sector were up 5.3 percent year-on-year to 20.3 billion euros (24 billion U.S. dollars) in the first half of the year, the inter-trade organization gfu Consumer & Home Electronics announced on Tuesday.

The "positive figures" were due to the strong demand for home entertainment products and products for working from home which had been "particularly popular" as a result of COVID-19 restrictions in Germany, gfu noted.
