NEW YORK, Aug. 24 (Xinhua) -- Oil prices gained on Monday as two tropical storms are expected to make landfall in the Gulf of Mexico this week, threatening energy production.
The West Texas Intermediate for October delivery climbed 28 cents to settle at 42.62 U.S. dollars a barrel on the New York Mercantile Exchange, while Brent crude for October delivery rose 78 cents to close at 45.13 dollars a barrel on the London ICE Futures Exchange.
