MADRID, Aug. 21 (Xinhua) -- As COVID-19 cases started to climb in Spain, a senior health official of the Madrid region recommended on Friday that citizens "stay at home" in the areas most affected by the pandemic in the region.
Antonio Zapatero, deputy counselor of Public Health and Plan COVID-19 from the Madrid region, made the recommendation at a time when Madrid confirmed on Friday 1,199 new cases.
