French shares down 1.33 pct Thursday

PARIS, Aug. 20 (Xinhua) -- French shares lost on Thursday, with the benchmark Paris CAC 40 down 1.33 percent, or 65.99 points, to close at 4,911.24 points.

Of the 40 selected large companies, 37 lost in the day.

French multinational automobile manufacturer Renault lost 4.86 percent. International steel producer ArcelorMittal SA and French water and waste group Veolia Environment went down by 4.08 percent and 3.22 percent respectively.

European commercial real estate company Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield SE advanced 2.86 percent, French multinational hospitality company Accor rose 2.25 percent, and French multinational advertising and public relations company Publicis Groupe edged up 0.35 percent.
