LONDON, Aug. 19 (Xinhua) -- British stocks rose on Wednesday, with the benchmark FTSE 100 Index up by 0.58 percent, or 35.36 points, to close at 6,111.98 points.
International Consolidated Airlines Group, an Anglo-Spanish multinational airline holding company, soared 7.60 percent, the top gainer of the blue chips. DS Smith and Rolls-Royce Holdings increased by 2.93 percent and 2.86 percent, respectively.
