MEXICO CITY, Aug. 18 (Xinhua) -- Mexico has seen a "sustained decline" in the number of infections and deaths caused by the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) over the past six weeks, a senior health official said on Tuesday.
"The trend is clear. Some indicators ... show that consistently, in most of the country, the number of daily cases is decreasing and the number of deaths," the Health Ministry's deputy minister of prevention and health promotion, Hugo Lopez-Gatell, told reporters at a press conference.
