CAIRO, Aug. 7 (Xinhua) -- Iran's COVID-19 cases approached 323,000 on Friday. Meanwhile, Iraq reported 3,461 new infections, the highest daily increase, amid the pandemic resurgence.

Iran, the hardest-hit country in the Middle East region, reported 2,450 new cases, bringing the total number of infections to 322,567.
