Morocco reports highest daily rise in COVID-19 cases

RABAT, Aug. 5 (Xinhua) -- Morocco on Wednesday reported 1,283 new COVID-19 cases, the biggest single-day increase so far, taking the number of infections in the country to 28,500.

The total recoveries increased by 365 to 19,994 while the death toll from the virus rose by 18 to 435 in the last 24 hours, said Mouad Mrabet, coordinator of the Moroccan Center for Public Health Operations at the Ministry of Health, at a press briefing.
