Azerbaijan's COVID-19 cases hit 32,157, with 279 new infections

BAKU, Aug. 1 (Xinhua) -- Azerbaijan Saturday reported 279 new COVID-19 cases, bringing its total number to 32,157, the country's operational headquarters for COVID-19 prevention and control said.

So far, 26,474 people have recovered, including 592 new recoveries over the last 24 hours, according to the headquarters.

Meanwhile, six people died in the period, raising the death toll to 454.

The headquarters said over 732,200 people have been tested for COVID-19 since the country reported its first case on Feb. 28.
