WASHINGTON, July 21 (Xinhua) -- The U.S. Senate Banking Committee on Tuesday approved President Donald Trump's nominees for the Federal Reserve's board of governors, Christopher Waller and Judy Shelton, sending them to the full Senate for confirmation.
Waller, executive vice president and director of research at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, was approved by the Senate panel with a vote of 18-7, while Shelton, a conservative economist who advised Trump's 2016 presidential bid, gained her approval by a party-line vote of 13-12, with all Democrats on the panel opposing her nomination.
