Roundup: Iran's COVID-19 cases near 280,000, while Iraq's tally comes closer to 100,000

CAIRO, July 21 (Xinhua) -- The tally of COVID-19 cases in Iran edged toward 280,000 on Tuesday, while the total cases in Iraq came closer to 100,000, amid continued resurgence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Iran, the hardest-hit country in the Middle East, recorded 2,625 new COVID-19 cases during the past 24 hours, bringing the total infections to 278,827.
