German shares edge down Thursday

FRANKFURT, July 16 (Xinhua) -- German stocks edged down on Thursday, with the benchmark DAX index down 56.01 points, or 0.43 percent, to close at 12,874.97 points.

Global internet technology and financial services provider Wirecard lost 5.29 percent, the top loser among the blue chips, followed by aircraft engine manufacturer MTU Aero and semiconductor manufacturer Infineon Technologies, which lost 2.97 percent and 2.70 percent respectively.
