ISTANBUL (Reuters) - A Turkish prosecutor has opened a new investigation into Selahattin Demirtas, the jailed former leader of Turkey's pro-Kurdish Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP), on terrorism-related charges, Demirtas tweeted on Friday.
Demirtas said the prosecutor in the capital Ankara had requested he be re-arrested, just as his lawyers were applying for him to be released on parole.
