WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The White House on Friday rejected House Speaker Nancy Pelosi's accusation that President Donald Trump put American troops and civilians working in Afghanistan in danger by publicizing a planned congressional trip to the war-torn country.

Trump had cancelled a congressional delegation's military flight abroad on Thursday after Pelosi earlier suggested postponing his televised State of the Union speech. White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders, speaking to reporters at the White House, had no specific comment about the status of the speech.
