HOHHOT (The Straits Times/Asia News Network): Dogs are indeed man's best friends. For more than 80 days, a loyal canine has been waiting at the railing in the middle of a road in Hohhot, a city in Inner Mongolia, for its female owner.

But the owner died earlier in a car accident on that busy road on Aug 21. Since then, her dog has been standing guard there every day, Chinese news platform Pear Video reported.
