MOUCHAMPS, France (Reuters) - Italy's prime minister has not demanded an apology from France over an immigration row between the two countries, the French presidency said on Wednesday.

Italian Interior Minister Matteo Salvini, who is also deputy premier and the leader of the anti-immigrant League party, earlier on Wednesday called on France to apologise.

"For now, we have not received any request from the Italian prime minister for an apology, nor for a possible cancellation of his visit," an Elysee official travelling with President Emmanuel Macron in western France said.
