UNITED STATES: A 58-year-old man in the United States, who was allegedly watching a pornographic film on his phone while driving, died after crashing his car early Sunday morning.

Preliminary investigations revealed that Detroit-based Clifford Ray Jones, who was not wearing seatbelt, had been distracted by the film while travelling south on the Interstate 75 highway at around 3.30am.

He subsequently lost control of his 1996 Toyota and was partially ejected through the sunroof when the car rolled.

He died on the spot. He was not wearing trousers when his body was discovered, police said.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident, which police said was one of the strangest they had ever encountered.

"There's so much technology out there a lot of people are more paying attention to what they're doing other than driving their car," Michigan State Police's Lieutenant Mike Shaw told the paper.

"We see people people putting on makeup, we see people doing different things as far as hygiene, as far as reading books."

Police investigations are still ongoing. - The Straits Times/Asia News Network
