Londoners remember ‘Brixton Boy’ Bowie at his birthplace

LONDON, Jan 11, 2016 (AFP) - David Bowie fans who gathered to remember the rock star at a mural of him near his London birthplace on Monday credited him with inspiring everyone from "freaks" to artists.

Bowie, who died Sunday aged 69, was born in Brixton, south London and lived there until he was six years old with his father, who worked for a children’s charity, and his waitress mother.
